Ziel des donau.pop.camps von Freitag, 6. Juli bis Freitag, 13. Juli 2012 ist, den Austausch junger Musikerinnen und Musiker aus verschiedenen Donauländern zu fördern und gemeinsam unter Anleitung renommierter Coaches an der musikalischen Professionalität zu arbeiten.

Sechs Bands, drei aus der Region Ulm und drei aus den Donauländern, wurden als Teilnehmer über ein Online-Voting auf der Homepage des Donaubüros Ulm/ Neu-Ulm ausgewählt. Sie erwartet ein Programm aus Workshops und Seminaren, individuellen Bandcoachings mit professionellen Musikern, Jam-Sessions, bandübergreifenden Projekten, Auftritten auf dem Donaufest und in Ulmer Clubs und ein Interview bei Radio Free FM.

Die Teilnehmer aus den Donauländern sind:
·   Impulse, eine Metal-Band aus Bosnien-Herzegowina.
·   Indie-Ya aus der Ukraine, mit einer Mischung aus Indie und Pop, gesungen in französischer Sprache.
·   F.U.S.I.O.N, eine serbische Rock-Gruppe.

Die Teilnehmer aus der Region Ulm sind:
·   Los Zapatos Muertos, eine Ska-Band aus Illerrieden, mit tanzbaren Rhythmen und fetzigen Blechbläserklängen im Gepäck.
·   Brassmaniacs, eine groovige Funkband , die in der Ulmer Musikszene bereits eine feste Größe. Ist.
·   Escandalos, eine Ska-Punk-Kapelle, ebenfalls aus Illerrieden, die mit tanzbeinfördernden Offbeat-Rhythmen die Menge zum zappeln bringen will.

Öffentliche Auftritte

Für Abwechslung beim Donaufest 2012 ist also im Hinblick auf die Ländervielfalt gesorgt und auch in puncto Stilrichtungen erwartet das Publikum ein interessanter Mix. Wer die Bands live erleben will, kann dies auf dem Internationalen Donaufest 2012 bei Auftritten am 10. Juli 2012 im Donausalon und beim Abschlusskonzert am 12. Juli 2012 in der Flussmeisterei in Neu-Ulm tun. Zusätzlich werden die Bands während des Zeitraums in verschiedenen Clubs in Ulm auftreten.

Das donau.pop.camp findet im Rahmen des Jubiläumsjahres „Aufbruch von Ulm entlang der Donau 1712/2012“ und im Rahmen des Internationalen Donaufestes Ulm/Neu-Ulm statt und ist ein gemeinsames Projekt von Popbastion Region Ulm Donau (getragen von der Hauptabteilung Kultur der Stadt Ulm und dem Stadtjugendring Ulm e. V. ) und Donaubüro Ulm/ Neu-Ulm. Partner des Projekts sind die Sparkasse Ulm, RegioTV und die Popakademie Baden-Württemberg.

The donau.pop.camp from Friday, 6th July until Friday, 13th July 2012 aims to promote the exchange between young musicians from different Danube states and to improve musical professionalism under the guidance of renowned coaches.

Six bands, 3 from Danube states and 3 from the Ulm region, were selected to take part in this project. Selection was by online voting on the homepage of the Donaubüro (Danube Cultural Office). The programme awaiting them includes workshops and seminars, individual band coaching by professional musicians, jam sessions and trans-band projects, gigs at the Donaufest (Danube Festival) and in various local clubs and an Interview at Radio Free FM.

The bands taking part from Danube states are:
·  Impulse, a metal band from Bosnia-Herzegovina.
·  Indie-Ya from the Ukraine, with a blend of Indie and Pop, sung in French.
·  F.U.S.I.O.N, a Serbian rock band.

The bands taking part from the Ulm region are:
·   Los Zapatos Muertos, a ska band from Illerrieden, who will be bringing rhythms to dance to and hot-brass sounds.
·   Brassmaniacs, a groovy funk band who have already made a name for themselves in Ulm’s music scene.
·   Escandalos, a ska-punk band, also from Illerrieden, who aim to get the crowds dancing to their foot-tapping, offbeat rhythms.

Public gigs

The Donaufest 2012 (International Danube Festival) offers the public an interesting mix and plenty of variety with regard to music genre and international diversity. You can experience the bands live at the International Donaufest 2012, with gigs on 10th July 2012 in the Donausalon and at the final concert on 12th July 2012 in the Flussmeisterei in Neu-Ulm. Additionally the Bands will perform in Clubs in Ulm during the donau.pop.camp.
